Witsel recently ended a 20-month spell in China as he joined Dortmund, but Paul Stefani suggested the former Juventus target could have become a Napoli or Manchester United player.
“There were other teams interested. Manchester United wanted him, Napoli too,” he told Het Laatste Nieuws.

“There were other teams interested. Manchester United wanted him, Napoli too,” he told Het Laatste Nieuws.
“However I told Axel, ‘at Dortmund you’re No 1. In Manchester you’d be just one of many, the same in Naples.”
The midfielder represented Belgium at the World Cup earlier in the summer, helping his country achieve a third-place finish.
