Hellas Verona wing-back Marco Davide Faraoni ‘would be one of the players targeted by Napoli’ if Elseid Hysaj leaves, confirmed his agent.

The 28-year-old has been one of the key players in Verona’s surprising Serie A season, contributing three goals and as many assists in 24 games.

“I know that Gennaro Gattuso and (director of sport Cristiano) Giuntoli both really like him, but before getting another full-back, they’d need Hysaj to leave,” agent Mario Giuffredi told Radio Marte.

“If Hysaj were to go elsewhere, then Faraoni would be one of the players targeted by Napoli to take his place. That’s the situation right now, we’ll see what happens over the next few months.”

Faraoni is well-travelled in his career, spending time at the Lazio and Inter youth academies before moving on through Udinese, Watford, Perugia, Novara, Crotone and Verona.
