Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout’s agent confirms “Napoli asked for him in January and there was no time to really negotiate, but I wouldn’t rule out a summer move” with Everton also an option.

The former Fiorentina player only joined Roma in July 2019, on a €1m loan with obligation to buy for a further €16m.

“I know that (Napoli President Aurelio) De Laurentiis asked for Veretout in January, but there wasn’t the necessary time required to really develop a negotiation,” agent Mario Giuffredi told Radio Marte.

“I wouldn’t rule out a summer move to Napoli, though. There is a lot of movement going on at Roma too and there could be a complete reboot of the squad.”

Everton have also been linked with Veretout, as Carlo Ancelotti took over the team after he was sacked by Napoli.

“Jordan has always been appreciated by Ancelotti too, but his signing last year would’ve meant losing Allan, so it wasn’t taken any further at the time.”
