The agent of Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez confirms they are ‘honoured by the interest from Inter’ and reveals a pledge.

The Uruguay international midfielder can also play on the right wing, which is where the Nerazzurri want him to effectively replace PSG-bound Achraf Hakimi.

“Things are going well and we are honoured by the interest from Inter,” agent Pablo Bentancur told fcinter1908.it.

“When Cagliari secured their Serie A safety, there was a promise. Cagliari President Tommaso Giulini said he’d help Nandez if a big club came calling this summer.

“The President has an excellent rapport with Inter, so we’ll see.”

The two clubs already did a deal for Dalbert, who joined Cagliari on loan with option to buy for €7m.

They are also discussing a permanent switch for Radja Nainggolan, who spent most of the last two years on loan at the Sardegna Arena.

Leeds United had also been interested in Nandez, but he had wanted to leave Cagliari only for a much bigger club.

The 25-year-old was signed from Boca Juniors in 2019 for €17m.
