Udinese goalkeeper Juan Musso ‘costs too much for Benfica’ and is ‘ready for a really big club,’ says the Argentina international’s agent.

The 26-year-old was signed from Racing Club Avellaneda for €4m in the summer of 2018 and his performances are one of the main reasons Udinese have broken away from the relegation zone.

“There are many rumours about him in Italy, with talk of Inter, Napoli and even Milan,” agent Vicente Montes told Radio Marte.

“In England they talk about Watford, while in Spain Atletico Madrid, but the truth is he’s only thinking about Udinese and safety right now.

“What I can say for certain is that Juan is planning a very important international career and wants to make the step up to the next level. I spoke to Benfica recently, but I think Juan costs too much for them at this moment. It will take a lot of money to convince the Pozzo family to sell.

“If a big club were to come in, then they’d have to agree terms with Udinese. We know the Pozzo family, they are not ones to clip the wings of their most talented players.

“The cost of goalkeepers on the transfer market has grown lately, or at least it had before the COVID crisis. We had a few offers from Spain, but they weren’t top level clubs. Quite frankly, I think Juan Musso is ready for a top club.”
