“The problem, at least at the start, was that Atletico Madrid were only prepared to accept a permanent sale, they would not let him leave in any other way.
“Towards the end of the transfer session, however, a series of circumstances occurred that allowed Luis Suarez to say yes to the Rojiblancos and Alvaro had the all-clear to join Juve on a paid loan.”
This is a return to Turin for Morata and that initial two-year experience on loan from Real Madrid proved decisive.
“President Andrea Agnelli and director Fabio Paratici were crucial. They called him and there were several conversations. They already got along well and still do have a strong rapport.
“The director of sport also had a big influence on Alvaro’s career, because he really pushed in 2014 to take him to Juve.”
The other experiences that the Spaniard had at Chelsea and Atletico Madrid weren’t as fruitful as those two years with Juventus and he rediscovered that confidence again here.
“Other Italian teams did try to sign Morata, specifically Milan and Napoli,” confessed his agent.
“At the end of the season, Juve will purchase him from Atletico, I am sure of it. I don’t think there are any regrets, because Atletico ended up with Suarez, one of the best strikers in circulation, so everyone is happy with the outcome.”
