“I won’t talk about Napoli’s transfer market,” Massimo Briaschi told Radio Crc.

“But, if the club wants to renew Christian’s contract, they shouldn’t do it simply as a sign of recognition.

“We have spoken with the club, but nothing has been decided yet. We’ll see later if the situation is right to prolong his stay at Napoli.

“It’s normal that they have priority for Maggio, because he’s already wearing a Napoli shirt.

“Inter? I can’t say anything. We have spoken, and in the coming weeks we’ll have deeper discussions.

“In any case, I think my client is having a great season.

“This is his eighth season in a Napoli shirt, Maggio is doing well and if a new contract is offered he’d obviously like to play as a starter.”
