Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s agent Mamuka Jugeli reveals his client would have joined Juventus if Fabio Paratici hadn’t left for Tottenham.

The Georgia international had a stunning Serie A debut with a goal and an assist in Napoli‘s 5-2 win over Hellas Verona on Monday.

He has moved to the Stadio Maradona to replace Lorenzo Insigne and met the fans’ expectations in the Serie A opener at the Stadio Bentegodi.

Kvaratskhelia could have moved to Italy earlier than this summer as his agent revealed Juventus were keen on signing him a year ago.

Tottenham director Fabio Paratici is an admirer of the 21-year-old and tried to bring the Bianconeri to Turin during his final season at the club.

“We had a preliminary agreement with Juventus when Paratici was there,” Jugeli told Nobel Arustamyan on YouTube, as quoted by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“However, Paratici went to Tottenham, but if he hadn’t changed team, Khvicha would be playing for the Bianconeri now. Milan had also asked for information, but Napoli moved more concretely.”

Kvaratskhelia has joined Napoli from Dinamo Batumi for €10m this summer and has signed a contract until 2027 at the Stadio Maradona.
