“He didn’t need the European Championships to show his quality, everyone already knew,” Vincenzo Rispoli told Tuttomercatoweb.
“Before the tournament there was interest both in Italy and abroad.”
Rispoli also discussed last night’s match, which saw the Azzurrini beat England, but eliminated by the result in the Portugal-Sweden clash.
“It’s a pity, because they had done well, I’m sorry about the Portugal draw. [Coach Gigi] Di Biagio has worked well, and I’m happy for Bardi, he showed great personality.
“He’s always done well when called-upon, and with the national team he’s done very well. There’s also a lot of satisfaction that he was captain.”
