The Partenopei captain was furious after having conceded the equaliser from the penalty spot in stoppages against Sassuolo and was seen kicking billboards and screaming after the final whistle.

Insigne saying ‘what a s*** team’ after the 3-3 draw with Sassuolo went viral, but his agent spoke about the reaction with Radio Punto Nuovo and NapoliMagazine, stressing that Insigne ‘always wants the best’ for the Azzurri.

“I think that gesture of annoyance is the most normal reaction that can be had after a match you have drawn in the 93rd minute because of a penalty,” Pisacane told Radio Punto Nuovo.

“As a captain and as a Napoli fan, Lorenzo always wants the best from himself on the pitch and in training.

“As captain he encourages his teammates to always expect the best in every moment.

“I want to clarity that he didn’t insult anyone, but only swore against a match they threw away in the last moment.

“He didn’t have a quarrel with [coach Gennaro] Gattuso, he simply vented his anger over the draw.

“He didn’t swear at anyone, nor would he have said ‘s*** team’, as has been imaginatively reconstructed by some.”
