Leonel Vangioni’s father-agent has warned Milan that the left-back will look to leave in January if he does not receive more game time.

Vangioni has yet to make an appearance for Milan this season, his first since joining from River Plate on a Bosman free transfer, prompting his senior to issue the Rossoneri with a quit threat.

“His arrival at Milan? Milan is a city that he likes, he feels very good there with his family,” Armando told Calciomercato.com.

“Also, his impact on the group has been very positive, he’s always spoken well about the club to me. There are many great players [at Milan] and there’s a great union between them.

“Injury? He has a contracture that will keep him out for a few more days. His recovery’s going well, I think he’ll return to the group within a week, but it’s clear that he’s not happy.

“I think this injury has come about because he’s nervous. He’s only had three similar injuries in his career.

“He didn’t go to Milan not to play. Maybe in Italy, they don’t know much about him, but Vangioni has played more than 300 times in the Argentine top tier.

“He’s played for River Plate and the national team. I’m convinced that if he was given the chance to play, in just a few games he’d win over the Milan fans.

“He’s a great professional, he knows Milan are a great club and that he has to work, but we’re not happy with how things are going.

“It’s also a strange situation, especially one that we didn’t expect. For four years, my son’s name has been in Serie A’s orbit.

“Four other [clubs] tried for him: Palermo, Torino, Roma and Sassuolo, the latter of whom’s sporting director had also gone to Argentina to talk to me.

“A loan if his situation doesn’t change?  Yes, of course. It doesn’t matter whether he goes somewhere in Italy or abroad, but we’re thinking about this hypothesis.

“It’s not important if the club are Sevilla, PSG or another: Leonel’s an important player and will go to whoever shows confidence in him.

“It’s clear that things have changed at Milan, there’s a new Coach who may not be familiar with the lad.

“We closed the transfer when Mihajlovic was still there, he was the one who wanted him.

“Now he continues to work with even more desire to convince Montella, then in January we’ll evaluate everything.”
