A member of Marek Hamsik’s entourage says he’s agreed with Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri to be subbed, and isn’t affected by Diego Maradona’s record.
The Slovakian international is currently on 114 goals for the Partenopei, one behind the record set by El Diego, the club’s most revered legend.
Hamsik managed 15 goals last season, so he’s expected to surpass Maradona this term but so far he’s managed just one goals in his 15 appearances in all competitions.

“I repeat: the record isn’t weighing him down,” Martin Petras said on Radio Crc.
“It’s clear though that we’ll always be talking about until he beats it. My advice is still to take the next penalty.
“Meanwhile Hamsik isn’t scoring but Napoli are still winning every game, so as always the team comes first.
“The esteem with Sarri is mutual, the fact he’s always taken off is the result of an agreement between them. It’s normal he can’t play the whole of every game, so when the game is over Marek comes off.
“You know better than me that it’s another Napoli when he’s on the pitch. The boss loves him, and Marek never misses a chance to say how much fun he has playing for Sarri.”
