Gabriel’s agent has confirmed that Napoli and Everton are both fighting it out to sign the Lille defender.
Napoli see the €30m-rated Gabriel as a potential heir to Kalidou Koulibaly, but their former coach Carlo Ancelotti also wants him at Everton.
“Everton made Lille the first proposal, while Napoli made theirs later,” Fernando Garcia told AreaNapoli.it.

“Gabriel likes Napoli as a team and Gennaro Gattuso as a coach. We’re waiting for Lille to let us know if they intend to go through [with the proposals].
“[The decision could come] in a few days, but I can’t say when exactly at this stage.”
Meanwhile, Emerson Palmieri – another of Garcia’s clients – could be replaced at Chelsea by Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell…
“Napoli got in touch with us for Gabriel but not for Emerson. Right now, we have no news [on his future].”
