Watford winger Gerard Deulofeu could return to Milan one day, as his agent Albert Botines said he “still has strong ties to the club.”

The Spanish 25-year-old is apparently not out to hide his wish for a return to Italy and his agent claims “the Milan fans write to him” still.

“He has signed a new five-year contract at Watford and is tied to the club for a long period," Botines told Sky Sport Italia at the Wyscout Forum.

“He had a great campaign last season.”

Deulofeu scored 10 goals in 30 league matches for The Hornets, who have been struggling to hit the same heights this time around.

Watford are 18th in the Premier League and Deulofeu has scored twice in 12 games so far, as his agent is encouraging speculation about a return to Milan.

“His ties to Milan remain very strong and one day he might return,” said the agent regarding a possible transfer.

“We need to see how things evolve. The Milan fans are still writing to him on social media, telling him to come back.

“Gerard enjoys Serie A and Italian football, so that’s why one day something might happen.”

Milan are 14th in the League this season and are preparing to welcome Napoli at San Siro when they return to action after the international break on November 23.
