“The truth is that nothing has happened and we also want to understand the reason for this situation,” Luca Puccinelli told Resto del Carlino.
“The Coach makes his choices and that’s fine with Mattia, the lad has always accepted it without any controversy. But the Coach cannot attack Destro’s professionalism.
“If he’s not his ideal striker then fine, but he shouldn’t justify his decisions by attacking the lad, who among other things has responded with goals when he’s been recalled.
“The problem isn’t whether Mattia players or doesn’t, among other things he’s often played in the past when he was carrying a knock.
“He’s always made sacrifices for the cause and that hasn’t been underlined properly.
“That’s why I do not accept attacks on the level of professionalism of the lad, which is exemplary.
“He’s convinced of Bologna and they come first. In January he had a couple of concrete offers from abroad, I put them to him but he didn’t want to consider them.
“He feels a debt of gratitude to the club and the fans, and he’s convinced he can repay it.
“Mattia, like all his teammates, just wants to help Bologna.”
