Agent Federico Pastorello insists reports Antonio Conte has a pre-contract agreement with Arsenal are ‘absolutely not true.’

The former Inter boss is a free agent after terminating his deal with the Nerazzurri by mutual consent, just weeks after winning the Serie A title.

There was a clause in the termination barring him from taking any other jobs within Italy during this season, but he can work abroad.

This helped fuel rumours of an approach from Arsenal, who have had a dismal start to the campaign under Mikel Arteta.

There are even suggestions in the British press that Conte has a pre-agreement with the Gunners to take over when called in.

However, agent Pastorello told reporter Freddie Paxton that the rumours are “absolutely not true.”

He also assured there had been no formal approach towards Conte from Arsenal.

The 52-year-old tactician spent two years at Chelsea, winning the Premier League title and the FA Cup before their acrimonious split in 2018.
