Sebastien Frey’s representative has hit out at Fiorentina. “They are treating him like an old shoe,” he stated.

The Viola seem to be ready to show the Frenchman the door in favour of keeping Artur Boruc and Norbeto Neto at the club.

“What is happening is not nice,” Carlo Pallavicino noted to Lady Radio. “Tell me what Frey has done to deserve this.

“This is a goalkeeper who came to Fiorentina by accepting to reduce his salary.

“He’s not received any offers from other clubs so he hasn’t rejected a transfer.

“If a divorce is wanted then perhaps they could have been more delicate about it as recognition to Frey.

“I think there are the right ways and the right times to tell people something. They are treating him like an old shoe.”

The custodian, 31, has been playing his football in Italy since he was signed as an 18-year-old by Inter in 1998.

Frey joined the Viola in 2005 after four years with Parma. He earns €2m a season net at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

It is understood that Fiorentina offered him to Genoa earlier this summer.
