Leonardo Spinazzola won’t sign a contract extension with Roma and could leave the Giallorossi in the January transfer window, his agent Davide Lippi confirms.

Spinazzola’s representative Lippi has claimed there are “no chances” to see the Italian left-back sign a contract extension at the Stadio Olimpico. His current deal runs out in June.

“We’ll see how the January transfer window goes. Otherwise, he’ll leave at the end of his contract,” Lippi told Sportitalia.

Spinazzola has slipped down José Mourinho’s pecking order and has been linked with a January move to Galatasaray.

The 30-year-old has made 16 appearances across all competitions this season but spent the last two Serie A games against Napoli and Juventus entirely on the bench.

A former Juventus winger, Spinazzola joined Roma in a player-plus-cash swap deal involving Luca Pellegrini in the summer of 2019.

He was named in the ideal Euro 2020 XI after contributing to Italy’s victory despite an Achilles tendon injury in a Round of 16 tie with Belgium, which kept him out of action for nearly a year.

  1. Abit of a mistake from roma this, always looks dangerous with bundles of energy and crosses the ball well, its not like we are loaded with choices really is it

  2. I am not sure i understand why he is out of favour at the club cos for me he is the best full/wing back there.

Okay his final ball sometimes is a bit of a let down but is it written somewhere that he cannot play on the right as he seems to be right footed.

Roma’s current options on the right are so bad that it has always baffled me why Zarewski has been played there but not him.
