The agent of Antonio Candreva has revealed the Lazio winger’s anger at only being awarded the vice-captaincy behind Lucas Biglia.
The Argentina international was announced as club captain for the 2015-16 season yesterday, but Candreva had been the fan favourite to take the armband and is reportedly upset.
Speaking to Corriere dello Sport, agent Federico Pastorello spoke of the Italy international’s disappointment at the decision.

Speaking to Corriere dello Sport, agent Federico Pastorello spoke of the Italy international’s disappointment at the decision.
“Considering Antonio’s path, I thought he deserved recognition and different consideration,” said Pastorello.
“In the way he’s represented himself, he’s shown enough in these last three and a half years.
“It’s not a lack of respect for Biglia or other teammates. Pioli has chosen another way and Candreva has taken it badly.
“He will continue with his work as he always has, but he can’t hide the deep disappointment.
“Every summer there are four or five clubs that ask for Candreva, even important clubs playing in the Champions League, but an appointment was never made with them.”
La Repubblica believes that the episode could even compromise the 28-year-old’s future at the club, with Atletico Madrid and Chelsea both reportedly monitoring him.
