Hakan Calhanoglu’s agent warns although he is ‘happy at Milan, there are also individual ambitions to be considered, such as playing in the Champions League.’

The creative midfielder is finding a new lease of life in Stefano Pioli’s 4-2-3-1 formation and made a strong contribution to last night’s 4-1 victory away to Lecce.

“Hakan worked in an excellent way during the lockdown,” agent Gordon Stipic told Tuttomercatoweb.

“He showed himself to be a real professional, with personal ambition suited to an important club. I am not surprised, as this is just a small part of what we’ll see.

“Calhanoglu is a player capable of working in different tactical positions, but he is particularly suited to this system playing behind the striker. He already played there in Germany, can read the game well and is flexible.

“Yesterday’s performance, in my view, reflects all his hunger and ambition. Everyone knows his contract expires in 2021 and that everything is just starting back up again now. I haven’t spoken to Milan yet, but Hakan and I have big ambitions. His objective is to play in the Champions League, I won’t deny that, and it’s one of the reasons why he is so fired up.”

Milan are currently in a fight to claw back a place in the Europa League, so the agent would not commit his future to the Rossoneri.

“I don’t know what will happen at the end of the season. We have our ambitions, which are to play in the Champions League, clearly,” added Stipic.

“Hakan is happy at Milan and proud to wear the Number 10 jersey at such a glorious club. However, obviously, there are also individual ambitions to be considered.”
