The goalkeeper announced today he had been offered a contract extension by Paris Saint-Germain, but turned it down, as he wanted a return to Italy after just one year in France.
“Gigi will not stop playing, he has no intention of retiring,” agent Silvano Martina told cittaceleste.it.
“He met with PSG today and we decided that a separation was the best solution. Now my client has asked for two days to relax and reflect with his family on what the future will hold.
“After announcing his departure, I’ve been bombarded with phone calls, but he hasn’t made a decision yet. It is pleasing to receive so much interest.”
Some have suggested Parma for a return to where his career began, but Martina reveals other options.
“Other than obviously Juve, Gigi has (hometown club) Carrarese, Genoa and Lazio in his heart.”
