The striker turns 30 in August and has practically split from Brescia after a series of disagreements, which culminated in him being turned away from the training ground yesterday.

He was allowed back in this evening for medical tests and a brief session, but only after his teammates had already left.

“I would’ve signed Balotelli last season,” noted agent Valcareggi told TMW Radio.

“However, at this point, it’s obvious now that he has to stop playing football.”

SuperMario’s last few experiences at Manchester City, Milan, Liverpool, Nice and Olympique Marseille all ended in fairly bitter circumstances.

Valcareggi puts some of the blame on Balotelli’s agent, Mino Raiola.

“I think Raiola has to accept some of the responsibility, because he ought to help Balotelli to improve. Instead, he presents him as this great champion and then the results are embarrassing.”
