Agent Mario Giuffredi has claimed Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj lost his confidence under former coach Carlo Ancelotti. “He destroyed his self-esteem”.
The Albania international struggled to establish himself in the starting line-up under the 60-year-old but has revived under his successor Gennaro Gattuso and featured nine times since Ancelotti left Naples.
Ancelotti left his position as head coach of the Partenopei in December last year and has since taken charge of Everton in the Premier League.

Giuffredi has slammed the influence the former coach had on his client Hysaj, who recently suffered a knee injury against Cagliari last weekend and might miss out on the action for a short while.
“Ancelotti had destroyed his self-esteem,” Giuffredi told Radio Punto Nuovo. “He had taken away all his security.
“He didn’t do well at Napoli, otherwise he wouldn’t have been sacked. I prefer not to talk about the relationship between the coach and the players, but many players have been annihilated by Ancelotti.”
Napoli have climbed to ninth in Serie A, two points behind top six, and are currently 1-0 up against Inter after the first leg in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia.
