During his interview with La Repubblica newspaper, Federico Pastorello revealed that Antonio Conte has a 60-70% chance to stay at Tottenham in 2022-23.

The Italian tactician moved to North London in November, signing an 18-month deal. Spurs have become contenders for the top-four, winning 15 of Conte’s 26 Premier League games in charge of the team. Pastorello, who was responsible for bringing Conte to Chelsea in 2016, is part of the coach’s entourage and spoke about his future in an interview with La Repubblica.

“He is obsessed with victories, that’s why he is one of the most winning coaches out there,” said Pastorello.

“He has the ability to change a team, but obviously, that’s not enough to win in the Premier League. Sometimes he is perceived as a difficult coach but if I were a director, I’d want a winning coach, not one that makes me live peacefully. He is satisfied with the team, I think he has 60-70% chance to stay.”

Conte left Inter last summer after winning the first Scudetto for the club in 11 years. He has won four titles in Italy with Juventus and Inter and one Premier League title with Chelsea in 2016-17.

Agent keeps door open for Lukaku’s move to Inter or Milan

Pastorello, who is also the agent of Romelu Lukaku, admitted that his client is having problems at Chelsea but ensured talks with Inter or Milan have not begun. Pastorello believes strikers will take centre stage during the summer transfer window.

“There isn’t only Erling Haaland. Many clubs were looking for a new No.9 last season but were unable to sign one. It’s not a secret. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid want one, Real Madrid as well.

“If they sign Kylian Mbappé, then PSG will need a striker. In Italy, Milan could be looking for a centre forward given the age of their strikers. Inter must understand what to do. They have two great players up front, but one is of a certain age.

“Bayern could lose Robert Lewandowski and the same goes for Tottenham and Harry Kane. Chelsea do have a striker, but it’s a particular situation…”
