Giovanni Lo Celso is one of Napoli‘s targets to replace the departing Piotr Zielinski and the Serie A champions could soon contact Tottenham after the Tanguy Ndombele deal a year ago.

Lazio and Saudi clubs have targeted Zielinski, who will leave Napoli if he doesn’t extend his contract expiring in June 2024.

According to Calciomercato.com, Tottenham’s Lo Celso is one of Napoli’s targets to replace the Poland international so they could begin talks with Spurs once Zielinski leaves the Stadio Maradona.

Napoli loaned Ndombele from Spurs last summer but didn’t activate an option to buy worth €30m. Calciomercato.com claims the Partenopei are thinking of a similar formula to bring Lo Celso to the Stadio Maradona, a loan deal with an option to buy.

It remains to be seen if Tottenham will agree to send Lo Celso out on a temporary transfer again, considering that he’s just returned from an 18-month loan at Villarreal.

Napoli are long-time admirers of the Argentinean, given that ex-director Cristiano Giuntoli had already targeted the 27-year-old a year ago.

Udinese‘s Lazar Samardzic is another candidate for Napoli if Zielinski leaves.
