Girondins de Bordeaux midfielder Jean Onana has been in talks with Milan and Spezia, but now seems to be heading for Cremonese, according to L’Equipe.

The 22-year-old Cameroon international only just moved to Bordeaux a year ago for €2m from LOSC and is under contract until June 2026.

Over the last few weeks he has been repeatedly mentioned in Serie A transfer news, first for Milan and then Spezia.

However, these were going to be loans with an option to buy, whereas Bordeaux want to raise funds with an immediate sale.

Now L’Equipe and Sky Sport Italia claim Cremonese are close to a deal to buy Onana for €5m plus another €1m in add-ons.

Bordeaux would also retain a percentage of the sell-on fee for the player.

Other clubs who have been linked with Onana over the summer include Lens and Olympiacos.

Cremonese are in action this evening with a trip to San Siro against Inter, looking for their first Serie A point of the season.
