Former Inter striker Adriano missed his flight from Rio de Janeiro to Istanbul, forcing him to watch the Champions League final from home.

The Nerazzurri are taking on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the Champions League final at the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul, their most important match in over a decade.

Adriano, who once briefly looked to be one of the best strikers in the world during his time with Inter, is confident of his old team’s chances and placed a €2000 bet on their victory over Manchester City.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com via the Brazilian press, Adriano was expected to fly to Istanbul for the Champions League final, working as a commentator for ESPN Brazil. He missed his flight, however, forcing him to watch Inter take on Manchester City from home.

The former striker was reportedly seen at three different parties on the night before the final and couldn’t be found in the morning, leading him to miss the flight from Rio to Istanbul.
