Globoesporte report that former Inter, Roma, Fiorentina and Parma striker Adriano has been hospitalised in a private facility.
The reason for his hospitalisation has not been confirmed by his entourage or the clinic, although UOL Esporte claim he cut his hand at home and the wound became infected.
It is a private hospital in Barra de Tijuca, in western Rio de Janeiro.

“I am very happy to be back visiting the team that made me a player,” Adriano had said to Inter TV.
“I remember the people, the fans who always cared for me in Italy and I consider it my second home. I was touched by the wonderful welcome I was given and thank everyone.”
Full name Adriano Leite Ribeiro, he was nicknamed L’Imperatore when he came up through the Inter youth academy and was expected to become one of the best strikers in the world.
However, he never managed to fully deal with depression brought on by the death of his father and tried to drown his sorrows in alcohol, even turning up to training still drunk from the night before.
Adriano tried a series of moves to Flamengo, Roma, Corinthians, Atletico Paranaense and most recently Miami United, but usually left with only a handful of appearances.
He gained a lot of weight and struggled to keep up with training regimes meant to get him back on the field.
