Adriano may have returned to Roma after almost a period of recuperation in Rio de Janeiro, but there are reports that his career at the club is over.

Roma were apparently unimpressed by the lack of concern he showed when Claudio Ranieri resigned on Sunday evening after the team's 4-3 defeat to Genoa.

Adriano was seen shopping in Rio and taking photographs with fans. Earlier this month footage also emerged of the 29-year-old drinking while supposedly recovering from a broken arm.

La Gazzetta dello Sport understands Roma have, to some extent, lost patience with Adriano, not least because he has yet to score in 241 minutes of play and his performances don't justify his earnings.

Rosella Sensi gambled last summer when she signed the former Brazil international on a free transfer, offering Adriano a three-year deal worth €5m a season before tax.

Given its financial situation, the club is keen to remove such a heavy burden from its balance sheet and has an offer on the table from Corinthians.

However, it's thought that Adriano, while prepared to leave Roma, would ideally like to return to Flamengo and link up with Ronaldinho.
