The agent of Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne claims Partenopei President Aurelio De Laurentiis wants the player to emulate Francesco Totti.
Totti, 38, has been at boyhood club Roma for his entire career, earning the club captaincy and iconic status in the process.
In an interview with Sky Sport this evening, Antonio Ottaiano revealed that although taking Napoli’s famous number 10 shirt may be a bridge too far for his client, De Laurentiis wants him to stay at San Paolo for many years to come.

In an interview with Sky Sport this evening, Antonio Ottaiano revealed that although taking Napoli’s famous number 10 shirt may be a bridge too far for his client, De Laurentiis wants him to stay at San Paolo for many years to come.
“The Napoli number 10 shirt has always been placed on another level because it was worn by the greatest of all time (Maradona),” Ottaiano said. “Insigne has always acknowledged that.
“I think it would be too great a burden for anyone.
“The future? We are still bound by De Laurentiis’ words that he wants him in a Totti type role.”
