Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has criticised former Coach Walter Mazzarri and believes that Juventus are as strong as ever.

The Partenopei replaced Mazzarri with Rafa Benitez last summer, and went on to finish third in the League. The Italian tactician meanwhile, took charge of Inter and guided them to fifth.

And the Stadio San Paolo outfit’s chief has insisted that he has no regrets about appointing Benitez, and is confident that the Bianconeri will be just as good with Massimiliano Allegri.

“I don’t want to cause an argument with Mazzarri,” he told reporters, “But I also like to say what I think.

“Mazzarri had an inability to communicate, especially with players like [Eduardo] Vargas.

“It is sad that Juve lost Conte, but I think they can be just as strong. After three titles, I think they can go on to do even better.

“It might be complicated with a new Coach, but I think they’re going to be just as competitive.”

The film mogul then commented on Napoli’s ambitions for the upcoming campaign.

“I’ll keep repeating this – we are ready to fight for the title.

“Football is a film that takes place week after week. Hopefully a good start with bring out something positive in us.”
