Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis confirms ‘Kalidou Koulibaly and Arkadiusz Milik are on the way out, transfer market permitting.’

While Milik is waiting for Edin Dzeko’s fate to decide whether he goes to Roma or Juventus, Manchester City have not yet reached the €80m asking price for Koulibaly.

“Koulibaly and Milik are both on their way out, transfer market permitting,” De Laurentiis told Canale 21.

“So, if the transfer market allows us to sell these two excellent players, we will know how to replace them. If not, then we’ll discuss it again next year.”

Milik’s situation is more complicated, because his contract with Napoli only runs to June 2021 and he could leave as a free agent next summer.

Despite that, the Partenopei are refusing to drop the €50m asking price.

Meanwhile, De Laurentiis also commented on the arrival of Victor Osimhen and the adjustment needed to Gennaro Gattuso’s system.

“I imagine we’ll see Napoli in a 4-2-3-1 formation, but then Gattuso is extremely creative and capable of reinventing situations based on the opponents and players at his disposal.”
