Napoli patron Aurelio De Laurentiis admits he is not surprised by Carlo Ancelotti’s San Paolo fury. “I’ve been making these complaints for 15 years.”

Ancelotti hit out at authorities for leaving Napoli’s dressing rooms more akin to a building site just days before their home matches against Sampdoria and Liverpool.

“It’s not controversial, but I’ve been making these complaints for 15 years,” De Laurentiis told Sky Sport Italia.

“We’ve always carried out stadium maintenance or installed what’s required: I’m thinking of the turnstiles, for which we were reimbursed, although only partially, nine years after they were installed.

“I would’ve refurbished the changing rooms in two weeks, but the work depends on the Universiade…”

The Partenopei President was then asked about his club’s Scudetto chances in 2019-20.

“We mustn’t deceive anyone, but it’s obvious that we’re going for it, otherwise we wouldn’t have finished second in recent seasons.

“That’s been the case due to partly the rules of football, which are wrong, and bad luck, which has held us back.”
