Adani: ‘Can’t compare derby d’Italia with Man United-Liverpool’

Former Serie A defender Daniele Adani didn’t enjoy the derby d’Italia: ‘It was a bad show for Italian football. Manchester United and Liverpool had 25 shots on target in 30 minutes, Juventus have 15 in one month.’

The Bianconeri picked up a 1-1 draw against Inter in the derby d’Italia on Sunday.

Edin Dzeko broke the deadlock in the first half, but a penalty kick from Paulo Dybala levelled the score with five minutes remaining in the second half.

Adani, a former Serie A defender and a regular host of Christian Vieri’s Twitch show Bobo TV, explained why he didn’t like the match between Juventus and Inter.

“Fans from all over the world saw a poor show. There couldn’t be a worse promotion in the world for Serie A,” he said as quoted by Ilbianconero.com.

“I saw many players laugh between the at the end of the game. How can they do it? This can’t be the image of Italian football around the world.”

Adani went on comparing the deby d’Italia with Manchester United-Liverpool, which was played on the same day and saw the Reds win 5-0 at Old Trafford.

“What are Juventus offering? How do they play? Manchester United and Liverpool had 25 shots on target in 30 minutes, if Juventus are lucky, they can produce 15 shots in one month.”

Juventus return to action on Wednesday, hosting Sassuolo at the Allianz Stadium.

Inter travel to the Stadio Castellani to face Empoli.
