Chievo Verona have insisted that Francesco Acerbi’s proposed move to Milan is not a done deal.
The defender is being heavily linked with a San Siro switch and his agent has already held talks with the Diavolo.
However, Acerbi is part-owned with Genoa and the Marassi outfit will also have to OK a transfer before Acerbi could move on.
“Milan’s interest in him is real, but patience is needed,” Chievo sporting director Giovanni Sartori told L’Arena. “Nothing has been done yet.
“I think that the outburst of Genoa President Enrico Preziosi – who stated that Acerbi would only see San Siro on a postcard – was an answer to those who think a deal has been completed.
“The reality is that there is still some talking to do.”
The former Pavia and Reggina stopper caught the eye during his 17 League games for the Flying Donkeys this term.
