abraham milan press conference

Tammy Abraham admits that he wanted to join Milan ‘from the beginning of the transfer window’ and promises to give his all for the Rossoneri.

The English forward was unveiled at a press conference at Milanello today.

He joined Milan on loan from Roma on the deadline day, but there had been rumours about the Rossoneri’s interest for several weeks.

“When I found that such a great club was interested in me, I had my mind and eyes on nowhere else but here. This is where I wanted to be from the beginning of the transfer window,” Abraham said.

“I am proud and honoured to be here and I want to do my best for this club.”

Roma and Milan had been discussing a permanent swap deal involving Abraham and Alexis Saelemaekers, but ultimately, they agreed on loan deals for both players.

Abraham made his Milan debut coming off the bench as a substitute in a 2-2 draw against Lazio last week and provided the assist for Rafael Leao’s equaliser.

“I’ve been so excited to come to such a great club. I arrived and the mister asked me if I was ready to play. I said: for the team, for the fans and the city, I am always ready,” said Abraham.

“No matter what it is. I helped, made an impact in the game and I couldn’t be more delighted. Now it’s all about settling down and providing more wins.”

Milan have drastically changed their attacking department over the last few months, signing Alvaro Morata and Abraham after seeing Olivier Giroud join LAFC as a free agent.

“I am in a position where I want to help the team as much as possible,” said Abraham.

“For me, coming back from an injury, I’ve been training regularly, I had a good pre-season. I feel good, and when I am on the pitch, I must give my all and if I get tired we have a great squad to change players. I feel good and ready.”

Milan have had a slow start to the season with just two points in three Serie A matches, but Abraham is confident that the Rossoneri will challenge for trophies this season.

“For everyone growing up as a kid, this was the biggest club in the world,” he said.

“They won major trophies and a lot of competitions. They’ve had great players, so it’s an honour for me to be here and play in such a fantastic city, in such a fantastic stadium with amazing fans. I am here to win. This is a club that has won many things, so I want to be part of their history. As much as I can, I want to help the team and hopefully lift silverware at the end of the season, this is my ambition and my dream. This is what I want to achieve.”

  1. I won’t be attending San Siro this season. I refuse to line the pockets of Redbird while they ruin our club. I emplore you all to do the same Rossonero!

  2. @Omar

It’s been a while since Milan have been a giant, in fairness. They once were, no doubt, but nowhere near those old levels now.
