Abraham training with Roma but still months away from full return – report

Tammy Abraham has been spotted taking part in light training exercises with Roma in recent days, but the England international still faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines before he is declared fit to make a full return according to reports.

The former Chelsea striker suffered a serious injury to his knee in Roma’s penultimate game of the 2022-23 Serie A season against Spezia, leaving the field in tears on a stretcher.

That injury prevented him from completing a summer move away from the Stadio Olimpico and made life in the transfer market much more complicated for Roma in the process.

Though initially ruled out for a period of three to four months, it soon became clear that Abrahm required surgery and faced an even longer spell in the medical room.

On Saturday, however, Il Corriere dello Sport shared footage from Roma’s recent training sessions, showing Abraham involved in some running drills with the rest of the available first team players.

Il Corriere does note however, that Abraham is likely to be kept out of competitive action until the end of January, or possibly even mid-February.
