Tammy Abraham has scored five goals in 17 games across all competitions, but his goal tally could have been higher hadn’t he hit the woodwork seven times.

The former Chelsea striker is the unluckiest player in Serie A as he has already hit the post four times in league games.

The tally raises to seven considering Conference League matches.

Lady Luck seems to have turned her back to the 24-year-old in the first part of the campaign. Abraham joked about it last month on Twitter, when he said: ‘Please remove the crossbar/post, 6th time this season I’ve hit it.’

The seventh one came on Sunday, during Roma‘s 3-2 loss against Venezia at the Stadio Penzo.

Abraham scored and assisted once, but it could have been a brace if it wasn’t for the fourth post he hit in Serie A this term, after those against Fiorentina, Sassuolo and Empoli.

There isn’t any other player in Italy’s top-flight who has hit the woodwork so many times this season.

Roma have slipped outside the top four after collecting just one win in the last five Serie A matches.

They face Andriy Shevchenko’s Genoa in their first game after the November break.
