Tammy Abraham was forced off the pitch during Roma’s match with Sampdoria after suffering an injury.

The 24-year-old English striker, who scored twice in the Giallorossi’s 4-1 win over Atalanta on the weekend, has been re-finding his form recently after a six-game goalless streak.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Abraham was taken off the pitch by coach Jose Mourinho in the 47th minute of the match against Sampdoria after suffering a thigh injury, with the player looking visibly pained.

Roma now fear that the English forward has suffered a serious muscle injury and medical tests are expected to be carried out in the coming days to examine the extent of the problem.

The former Chelsea man, who is contracted to the Roman club until 2026, will have a couple of weeks to rest and recuperate over the Christmas break, with the Giallorossi’s next match against Milan scheduled for January 6.

The 24-year-old Abraham has scored six goals in 17 Serie A appearances this season under Mourinho. He has also provided three assists in that time.
