Milan and Roma could not agree on a swap deal involving Tammy Abraham and Alexis Saelemaekers, so both players will complete loan transfers in the coming hours.
Milan are ready to welcome Abraham, while Roma will get Saelemakers from the Rossoneri.
Transfer expert Matteo Moretto reports that the two clubs tried negotiating a permanent transfer for both players but could not agree on the deal structure and the final transfer fee that Milan would have to pay to Roma.
Therefore, both players will join their new clubs on loan.
Abraham and Saelemaekers: Details behind Roma and Milan deals revealed
Moretto wrote in his latest DailBriefing column for Caught Offside that both players will keep their salaries at their new clubs.
The Italian transfer expert details that Abraham earns between €4.5m and €5m at the Stadio Olimpico and his wages at San Siro won’t change.
Abraham has been on Milan’s agenda for several months, but the Rossoneri only finalised a deal with Roma in the last few hours.
The Rossoneri have travelled to Rome for a game against Lazio with just two strikers available: Noah Okafor and Francesco Camarda, given that Alvaro Morata and Luka Jovic are injured.
