The President of the Lega Serie B admits he’d like Italy’s second tier to be reduced to 20 teams.

“I’m proud of the path which Serie B is taking,” Andrea Abodi told Sky Sport Italia. “But I’m not content with where we are right now – we want to continue growing.
“We’ve already made changes this season which could see the teams placed in seventh and eighth compete in the play-offs, that could make the League even more fascinating.
“The dream, however, remains a 20-team tournament, but in order for that to happen we would need to find an agreement with the other Leagues.”
Speculation suggests that Abodi is working towards a reduction by 2015.
