FIGC President Giancarlo Abete feels Italy were given “a good draw” for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

The Azzurri were top seeds in last night's Rio de Janeiro draw and are in Group B with Denmark, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Armenia and Malta.

“The draw was a lot earlier than usual, seeing as we are still in the process of qualifying for Euro 2012,” said the Federation chief.

“I think the result was in line with what we expected. I consider it a good draw, albeit with the due sense of prudence.

“We can be pleased that we avoided drawing the two teams we considered most dangerous in Pot Two, who were Russia and France.”
