Christian Abbiati admits Milan have “conceded too many goals because of individual errors”.

The Rossoneri have lost their last two Serie A games, and have actually had a worse start to the season than last term, when they finished 10th.

“The defence?” backup goalkeeper Abbiati considered in an interview with Milan Channel.

“We have to improve in that aspect, we’ve conceded too many goals because of individual errors. It’s not just the defence that has to improve, but the whole team.

“We have to improve in that aspect, we’ve conceded too many goals because of individual errors. It’s not just the defence that has to improve, but the whole team.

“I can see my teammates giving their best on the pitch, and the Coach [Sinisa Mihajlovic] is very well-prepared.

“We have a good style of play, in my opinion, but maybe we’re not yet at 100 per cent and we can’t do everything the Coach asks of us.

“That’s not enough though, we have to play with more personality and courage.”

Abbiati has been with the Diavolo since 1998, and insists there’s no rivalry between himself, first choice Diego Lopez and young talent Gianluigi Donnarumma.

“We’re friends, it’s harmonious between us. Diego is the first-choice, while Donnarumma is very young, but has great quality.

“We’re also roommates [for away games], he’s like my protégé.”
