Milan director Christian Abbiati assured they “believe in Andre Silva” despite his lack of playing time and explains the Lucas Biglia pick.

The Rossoneri host Crotone at 14.00 GMT, follow the build-up and action from all eight Serie A games on the LIVEBLOG.

“The Coach is right, there are no easy games in Serie A. The important thing for us today is to win and continue the improvements we saw over the last two matches,” Abbiati told Mediaset Premium.

“Nikola Kalinic played a lot this season and is still carrying an ankle injury. Patrick Cutrone is doing very good things and starts today. Andre Silva has a lot of quality and we believe in him.

“Biglia was coming off an injury, but did very well in the Coppa Italia derby. Riccardo Montolivo had a slight problem in training earlier this week and the Coach chose Biglia, who is in good shape physically.

“We’re doing good work, Gattuso has been here for a month and is doing a lot of fitness training. We hope to soon see positive results.”

Milan are in the bottom half of the Serie A table midway through the season, so perhaps the most realistic way of qualifying for the Champions League is to win the Europa League.

“We have great belief in our Europa League chances, but for now it’s better to take it one game at a time.”
