Former Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati said the Rossoneri and Napoli ‘can fight for the Scudetto’ ahead of the big clash on Sunday night.

The 43-year-old, who won three Scudetti, one Coppa Italia and the Champions League during his time with the Rossoneri, believes both Milan and Napoli are title contenders this season.

The League leaders travel to the San Paolo, three points clear of the Partenopei after seven games, but the former shot stopper said the Diavolo must not get carried away if they beat Gennaro Gattuso’s men.

“I would say they can fight for the first place until the end,” Abbiati told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “It will be a good championship, with four to five contenders, and these are among them.

“But, even if Milan win, forget the word Scudetto for now, it’s too early.”
