“Before the contract renewal, some untrue stories emerged in the papers and they didn’t help the situation,” Abbiati told Mediaset Premium.
“Gigio is a great professional, he’s part of the club’s heritage and we really care about him. He is still young and has huge margins for improvement.
“It’s only natural there is talk of the errors in the Coppa Italia Final, but let us not forget he is only 19 years old.”
