Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati warns that Chievo will provide tough opposition when they meet on Saturday night.

The Rossoneri are coming off the back of a win over Cesena, and the 37-year-old says they must approach this game in the same way.

“It will be a difficult game,” Abbiati told Milan Channel.

“Every team raises their game when they play Milan. We’ll have to find the spirit that we had on Sunday against Cesena.

“Every team raises their game when they play Milan. We’ll have to find the spirit that we had on Sunday against Cesena.

“We moved well in the first half, in the second half we weren’t as good but [overall] I think we had a good game.

“That said, we haven’t achieved anything, we’re still low-down in the table. We need to be consistent in results and performances like Sunday to move up the table.”

The ‘keeper also thanked the Rossoneri faithful for sticking with the team during their struggles.

“In the last two seasons, they’ve always been on our side. Even on Sunday they did a beautiful display even though it wasn’t a glamorous game.

“We noticed the display, and it certainly helped us.”
