Former Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati admits “I hope with all my heart” Cristian Brocchi will stay.

It’s not clear who will be on the Rossoneri bench next season, as the current Coach is only contracted until June 30, but the recently retired ‘keeper hopes he’ll be kept on.

“I’ve heard from him, he’s calm but he’s waiting for a call,” Abbiati explained to Milan Channel.

“I hope he gets it with all my heart, because I consider him a very good Coach, he’s young and very well-prepared.

“We really liked his ideas, you could see that in the Coppa Italia final, even if it didn’t end well.

“What am I doing now? I’m working on my motorbike dealership and trying not to think about football, even if I know it’ll be difficult, especially in the coming months.”

Diavolo President Silvio Berlusconi is currently in negotiations to sell the club to a Chinese consortium, and Abbiati was asked about those talks.

“I can’t envisage Milan without Mr Berlusconi. It’s also true though that to revive Milan investment is needed, so if they’ll do good then we welcome investors for Milan.”
