The Rossoneri man cut a frustrated figure for long periods of Seedorf’s San Siro tenure, though the Dutchman is now set to be sacked as Coach.

Speaking at an Italy Press conference today, the 27-year-old also refused to comment on the prospect of Pippo Inzaghi replacing Seedorf as his club boss, insisting nothing has yet been finalised.

“It was a choice by the Coach and you need to accept it,” Abate told reporters. “From my point of view I always trained with determination and professionalism, so I got to this training camp in the best condition possible.

“We still need to wait for it [Inzaghi’s appointment] to be officially confirmed. Let’s wait and see how the situation at Milan develops, then we’ll see.”
