Ignazio Abate warned Milan “can’t stop now” after beating Torino 1-0, as they are closing on the European places.

The Rossoneri extended their unbeaten run to nine games, 11 in all competition, and are now just one point behind Inter, awaiting the Nerazzurri’s trip to Juventus tomorrow night.

“We are doing well, but mustn’t let up now,” the full-back told Mediaset Premium.

“This is the crucial moment of the season and everything is up for grabs in the next three games. We must manage to keep this run going.

“We’re on the right track, we let the criticism slide off us before and now need to have the same attitude to compliments. We saw the banner from the fans thanking us for our efforts and we're glad they recognised what we're doing.

“We’ve got heart and today put in an excellent first half performance. In the second half we were solid and didn’t struggle, which was down to the group work ethic.

“There was a period this season where we could’ve gone off the rails, but instead we stayed united around the Coach. The results are finally arriving, but we can’t stop now, as we need to give our best and qualify for Europe.

“We are in good shape mentally and physically.”

Milan face Alessandria in the Coppa Italia semi-final on Tuesday.
